The First Year....

Please excuse the mess :) This was my practice cake for the wedding. Covered in homemade fondant, blue ribbon with rhinestones, and artificial flowers:

Our fondant, soft yellow ribbon around bases, and glittery butterflies she bought. This was Jessy's wedding cake during the day:

This was the cake at night:

We have done way too many cakes to post in one night, especially on New Year's Eve! :D So I will post more next year, ironically I have a cake to go bake! :D LoL

Happy New Year!!!!!!

It started with a wedding....

So about 7 years ago I decided to play with fondant, made two cakes, then got caught up with wedding plans and moving and never touched it again. About 3 years ago, my sister-in-law Jessy called me and asked me if I would please make her wedding cake because she wanted a fondant cake with butterflies. I was very nervous since I had never made a cake for 100 people before, but I made a practice run, came out decent, and everyone at work thought it was delicious. So I went ahead and gave it a shot, but since it was in El Paso (and I'm in San Antonio), my mother-in-law and Jessy baked the cakes and when I got in town I frosted and covered them with the help of my husband, Chris. It came out nice, my sister-in-law loved it and that's all that mattered :D

Ever since then, we've had a few people ask for cakes and slowly we've received more orders. I would love to have a bakery someday, but for now baking from home, especially with a little one on the way, is just fine. So I hope you enjoy my cakes, even the disasters! Everyone has a bad day, you just have to laugh it off :D And no matter how much everyone else loves the end product, Chris and I always find ourselves talking about how to make it better next time :)
